Hi! I am Nataliia, an illustrator and graphic designer from Sofiivska Borschahivka, Ukraine.
My story started in a small miners’ town in the east of the country, and, honestly speaking, I never dreamt of working in a creative field. My university degree was in Language and Literature Studies, and I always wanted to teach at school. However, life can sometimes be tricky.
In 2008, I got a job at the Department of Journalism and Publishing in my Alma Mater and by some crazy chance “was honored” to teach the course that nobody wanted to teach because it required additional studies and hours (if not weeks and months) of preparation. The course was Design in Advertising 🙂
What about landing in kawaii art?
So… While designers mostly shift from practice to teaching, I did it my own way – from theoretical education to “real designing” and finally kawaii art. And here I am – already seven years in digital illustration and surface pattern design, with hundreds of hours of online learning, with all the ups and downs of changing the career in the middle of its development, with failures and with dozens of successful projects, and – the last but not the least – with love and passion to kawaii style art!
